CALLIE MAE SEA FOUNDATION AT A GLANCE
Who We Are
Callie Mae Sea Foundation knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Since 2008 our founder, Dr. Virginia Schweiss, has known that her mission in life was to help sustain the oceans for us and our future generations. After receiving her PhD, Ginger has gone on to teach for numerous universities across the country as she followed her military family. Still no matter where she has been she has worked tirelessly to help conserve our precious marine resources through her three pillars: Education, Protection, and Research. Family and friends have asked how they can help with her efforts so with a lot of thought and research we ultimately decided to launch Callie Mae Sea Foundation in 2020 to help conserve our marine ecosystems for future generations.
THREE PILLARS

EDUCATION
Empowering others to help conserve our amazing marine resources through education.

PROTECTION
Reducing garbage that is in our oceans by actively cleaning beaches and the ocean floor.

RESEARCH
Visualizing the problem and helping to find solutions through low cost research.
“Think about the oyster. It takes a grain of sand and turns it into a beautiful pearl. Too often we are just the opposite–we take pearls and turn them into grains of sand.”

A BIT ABOUT US
The Callie Mae Sea Foundation is an IRS 501(C)(3) non profit founded in Hawaii with branches in Virginia and Mississippi. Since our founding, we have aimed to do our part in saving the world’s oceans through our three pillars. We not only walk the walk but we show others how to do the same through our captivating videos. Our initial focus was on marine microplastics research and educational articles; however, we have shifted our focus in recent years to living shoreline creation and oyster restoration. Please consider a tax-deductible donation today to help conserve our beautiful marine world!
